What to Expect

What is the Sunday Worship Service like?

During our Sunday worship gathering, we come together to worship God as a church family. The aim of our Sunday worship gathering is that we would sing the Word, pray the Word, read the Word, and preach the Word for the glory of Christ Jesus and the building up of His Church.

Our Sunday service consists of Prayer, Congregational singing, Scripture reading, Expositional preaching, and fellowship with one another. The music we sing is a traditional arrangement of hymns, both old and new, with an emphasis on being faithful in doctrine and closely tied to the Scripture passage that is being preached. We prefer to have congregational singing, which emphasizes the gathered body singing to God with one voice. The preaching is expositional, which means that we usually walk verse by verse through books of the Bible, alternating from Old Testament to New Testament. It is our aim in every service to clearly communicate the message of the Gospel, which is the message of how God has worked salvation for sinners through repentance and faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

How Should I Dress?

When you come to Oak Grove, you will see anything from suits and ties to jeans and t-shirts. Our goal is to focus our attention on Christ, not to be distracted by how we are dressed. We want everyone who attends our services to feel comfortable. We would love for you to come as you are!

What is the Wednesday Night Bible Study like?

Our Wednesday evening study is a time we call “Growing Together”. This is where we have a time of discussion, fellowship, and prayer together around the tables in the Fellowship Hall. We discuss questions about the Scripture passage and Sunday sermon, share prayer needs with one another, and enjoy time to fellowship together and build relationships with others in our church family. This is open to all ages because the message of the Gospel applies to every age and stage of life and we all need to learn from each other.

How do I get to Oak Grove?

Oak Grove Baptist Church is located on the corner of Oak Grove Church Rd. and NC Hwy 96. We are located 3 miles south of downtown Youngsville and 2.2 miles north of NC Hwy 98. While we are located in Franklin County, our physical address is 2124 Oak Grove Church Rd, Wake Forest, NC 27587. We are close to several towns nearby, including Wake Forest, Youngsville, Franklinton, Louisburg, Raleigh, and Zebulon.

Where do I park?

When you arrive, there is parking available on both sides of the building as well as a grass parking area across the street right in front of the church building.
